Birmingham Tourist Information
This January we’ve teamed up with Kerrang! Radio to cook up a spectacle of the peculiar,
a twisted circus bringing performances to wow, with delicious menus to be sampled at
Spiceal Street’s eight divine restaurants when Cirque du Spiceal rolls into town,
arriving on January 23rd.
Cirque du Spiceal is a series of evening events from an eerie circus featuring an eccentric
mix of entertainment combined with the opportunity to enjoy the city’s ultimate socialising
hotspot, Spiceal Street.
You can expect to watch gentleman chimps hosting a most unusual tea party, killer clowns
on the prowl and spectacular fire performers illuminating the night, whilst a twisted master
of ceremonies, Cirque du Spiceal’s ringmaster, takes centre stage as Spiceal Street is
transformed into the setting for a truly dark and quirky show.
Each evening at Spiceal Street, diners at Browns Bar and Brasserie, ChaoBaby Thai Restaurant,
handmade burger Co., Jamie’s Italian, Mount Fuji, Nando’s, Pizza Hut and wagamama can
enjoy a succession of unusual teaser performances before the fanfare of the grand finale on
Saturday 28th January.
So what can you expect from Cirque du Spiceal?
Monday 23rd January 7pm-9pm
Proceedings begin at 7pm for the first evening of Cirque du Spiceal which sees the ring master
introduce two incredibly unique stilt walkers who will interact with the crowd.
Tuesday 24th January 7pm-9pm
You can expect some frights with killer clowns on the loose and the yeti on the rampage,
fear not though as Cirque du Spiceal’s ring master will be on hand to keep them in check.
Wednesday 25th January 7pm-9pm
Wednesday presents onlookers with a delight of quintessentially British tradition in the
form of a tea party, this however by no means your average tea party as it will be hosted
by chimps, gentleman chimps at that; will you be joining them?
Thursday 26th January 7pm-9pm
Marvel at the colossal King Kong who will be taking over Spiceal Street from 7pm until 9pm on
Thursday. Alongside the king of the jungle, you can expect further grand circus show from
the ringmaster and his spectacular stilt walkers.
Friday 27th January 7pm-9pm
On Friday we bring you fire! Prepare to be blown away by a trio of fire breathing circus
performers who will amaze and delight with their spectacular fire show.
Saturday 28th January 6pm-10pm
The finale on Saturday will see the ‘Caravan of Lost Souls’ unleashed on St Martin’s Square between
6pm and 10pm. These creatures of the night will be complimented by a troupe of eerie acts from
twisted circus performers and spectacular fire breathers, to astonishing contortionists and a one man
band with many a trick up his sleeve. Plus Kerrang! Radio breakfast hosts, Loz & Keith will be
broadcasting live to the nation
